Welcome to the latest Make it Crafty Entertainers release!

The design team and my special guests have created some AMAZING creations to inspire you with this release and I know a number of the girls got REALLY excited with this release and have made more than one project to share. I am so proud of them and feel so lucky to have such an amazing team of ladies who always go above and beyond! Love you gals!! xoxo

So you’ve found yourself at the START of the hop and I am sorry to say I am not really starting it off with a bang as by the time it came to make my card I was all tired out from colouring most of the images for the store and then adding them and… so on… it kind of loses all of it’s excitement!   BUT I did put together a card to share. Just a nice simple one and I thought it would be great to give to a guy…

I have used the ‘Theatre‘ background and cut it out and stuck it onto black cardboard. Then I coloured ‘Tenor Opera Singer‘ and cut him out. I folded some black cardboard and stuck him using that to make him ‘pop’ off the stage a little.

I thought the sentiment…  “Sing your Lungs Out” was fitting and then on the inside I am going to add “For he’s a Jolly Good Fellow!”  I was always think of my late uncle Simon when I think of the additional versus of Happy Birthday as he would sing it sooooo loud that you wouldn’t hear anyone else and there were 14 of us at family birthdays! hehee

Simply B Stamps and Little Miss Muffet Stamps

I had fun creating a little cottage setting with all the tea party elements from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.

It was fun playing around with all the different elements but I was a little worried I was making it too busy so I had to remove some elements.
My favourite part is the bike just out of full view. Helps you imagine the scene as a larger picture and I’m just giving you a snap shot.

I have used elements from the Cozy Cafe Collection, the bicycle and the flowers

And then I coloured and cut out Gertrude Lena Hatter

Then I put it all together on a card and as you can see I was going for ‘shabby chic’ country type style. Fail! hehee

I’m sure you have had loooots of inspiration along the way and you’ve nearly reached the end!

Hi Everyone,

I was in need of a little baby girl card to go out the door with a little gift I had made and so I quickly created this little card using a sweet image from Saturated Canary – Butterfly Baby.

I reduced the saturation of the black lines so it would print lightly however my printer still printed them a little too dark for my liking but I didn’t have time to muck around. I still think t turned out OK in the end and probably allowed me to colour a little faster than I would have been able had the lines been lighter.

Here’s the nice clean card I made… all one card base.

Some of you with a keen eye will notice I didn’t realise I was missing an ‘R’ in ‘Birth’ around the border. I am sure you can imagine I was totally kicking myself when I had coloured it all, ready to write in the card and noticed that. I’m just hoping their eyes will play the trick on them and they don’t notice.

I added a little bit of stickles to the wings for some little extra sweetness and I have to say I really like the finish. Nice & clean and not too stressful.

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post to share a little project I have been colouring up over the last few days. Just one for fun.

I was trying something new with the background and after stamping ‘Tilda with Sling Shot’ I masked her and then used distress inks and foam pads to blot the background. I used a mixture of Peacock feathers and Scattered Straw – then to get the splotchy finish I did one spray of some glimmer mist spray in a similar colour. So the background shimmers a little which is quite nice.

Unfortunately the mask wasn’t perfect and there was a bit of an outline which you can see that I tried to blend in with some copics that were close to the same colour. Doesn’t look too bad in real life but the camera sure does have a knack at picking up all the faults! haha

Anyhow, enough chattering! Here’s some pics.

Oh I nearly forgot to explain the post title. When I showed DH what I had been up to he broke out in song, singing the Bon Jovi classic – “Shot through the heart”. It was hysterical.

Hello Everyone!

Boy I have been so bad. I just looked at the last post date and it is well over a month ago since I last posted! There’s been a lot going on and it has led to a lot more going on in fact but finally I am feeling good about things.

Now something to feel FANTASTIC about is the SUPER FUN release with my friend Christy from Tiddly Inks! We have been chatting for months about coming together again for a combined release and it has finally all fallen into place. We wanted to do something fun and unique and one thing led to another and the idea of creating an Ancient Egyptian set of images made us both really excited and so here we are!!

There’s a bunch of fun happening over at the main blog where you can have fun trying to figure out the SECRET code!! ooooo  hehee  You just have to hunt for the symbols and then work out which letter they represent using the special key chart. Just a bit of extra fun and you get a chance to win our entire Ancient Egyptian collection!

You have actually fallen on DAY 2 of all the fun!! We had the big release yesterday and the Tiddly Inks crew shared all their amazing creations and today my gorgeous team are sharing a bunch of inspiration!! Hopefully you have managed to find the symbols for today but if you haven’t started collecting yet – pop over to day one and visit the Tiddly Inks team and start collecting the symbols!

I just had to have some fun and make a project for this release. I actually made up a few different scenes but this one was my favourite!

I adore the darling Young Cleopatra (available here) and so I built a scene for her using the Ancient Egyptian City and then behind it I added the Egyptian Pyramids and then I simply cropped it all. I needed something extra and Christy’s lil Cat was the perfect addition (available here).

The card is quite simple, but that’s what I love about scenes. You can concentrate on the image and have fun with your skills of building a scene and then add it to a simple card base and you don’t have to add all the bling. Makes it so much easier for people like me who struggle!

I can’t believe how fast the weeks are already zooming by. It’s February already! I can just feel that in a few weeks time I’ll be saying – I can’t believe it is Christmas again already! Oh oh… but wait there’s so much to happen before Christmas because just around the corner we have Valentine’s Day!!

This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges the gals are wanting you to share your LOVE cards of course and I’m sure many of you magnolia fans would have got your hands on the latest club kit or some of the new gorgeous ‘Love Collection’.

I haven’t gone for anything too fancy this week but I wanted to have a play around with an idea that I had to mask some different stamps together. So really I just concentrated on that and the colouring!

I started by stamping ‘Tilda with Dot Bow’, then I masked her with some scrap paper. Using and oldie but a goodie border stamp – Blueberry Label – I stamped to the right of her hanging arm, then re-inked and stamped to the left of her hanging arm to create the banner frame. Then I masked the top and bottom of the frame keeping the original mask of Tilda in place as well, and stamped the ‘I Love You’ text.

I know it isn’t too fancy… I thought I would keep it as a little tag that I could write a little love note on the back so instead I made a little stand for it out of some chipboard embellishments. Worked out pretty nice I thought.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner I wanted to tell you all how much I love and appreciate you. After colouring up the image to share I thought I should at least make a card before I send her out on her merry way!

I requested some help on the Make it Crafty FB Fan page to help name this darling girl and a number of names stood out but in the end I felt she was a ‘Vanessa’ (suggested by Charlene – thanks Charlene!) – and of course she is dreaming of her loved one whilst twirling her hair around her finger so her full name is – Dreamy Vanessa.

Hi Everyone,

I’ve been busy designing (playing) over the last few weeks, creating a range of new chippies AND some new 3D kits. I’ll have them in the store soon so you can snatch them up but I just had to have a bit of a play myself tonight! hehe

I already had ‘Pearl’ coloured from the release and decided I wanted to frame her with one of my new chipboard frames which will be called ‘Antique Rectangular Frame’. I traced around the edge of the frame onto my image and then cut it out with scissors to match the shape of the frame.

All the paper edges were sponged with brown ink to help reduce the ‘glare’ of white and then I brushed over the edges with gold Viva metal colour.

The chipboard frame was covered in turquoise Viva metal colour and then I brushed on the gold for an ‘antique’ look. The little heart is also from one of the new chipboard embellishment sets and I left it raw with brushed gold over the top. Finally I added some flowers to finish it off. Nice and simple and a little elegant.

Hello everyone!

I’ve been a little slack with my posting of late. I am just going through a really really tired phase. I don’t’ seem to be sleeping well and I am walking around like a zombie all day. I think I need to make a New Years resolution after all and start EXERCISING! I think that’s my problem and now I just need to get motivated. haha  But seriously – it’s about time I get off my buttocks and move a little and get the energy levels higher. (a little pep talk to myself)

BUT I do have a card to share. I actually made this card last week for the last MDUC challenge and I was naughty and didn’t get around to blogging it. The girls gave me the thumbs up for this weeks challenge and I just scraped through with my ‘metal’ zip! hehee Bonus!!

I am a little bit proud of this card. You know how I have been doing the clean and simple – well I decided to go for an ‘Alyce’ style card with the muted brown colours and pretty flowers etc… oh and of course the ‘pearl’ border around the image.  I am happy with the result and plan to play more. Alyce tells me it’s all about practise, just like with colouring and after a while you start picturing what your card will look like and what accessories you will grab from your stash as you’re colouring the iamge! I’ll let you know how that goes. haha!

Hi Everyone,

Just a super quick post to share a card I made with one of the new wedding stamps available from Make it Crafty. the ‘Geeky Love’ couple are a much loved couple and I thought it was about time they got married! So there are a number of gorgeous new images of the couple getting married which I am sure you will love.

I can’t decide which is my absolute favourite as I love them all, but I think Geeky Love Kiss has to be up there! Don’t they look precious?!?!

I’m currently designing up some more chipboard designs too and the litte heart with wings will be in one of the new designs. Just the right size to tuck into some flowers!

These images are super easy to colour up. I simply followed the guides for the shading in the illustration and then blended out with lighter colours towards my iamginery light source.
