Howdy all!
Sorry I have been so infrequent lately with my projects! I have been trying I promise!
BUT I have returned with another video! My gorgeous teamie Tracy asked… well I could say begged me nicely to be a spotlight for the new inspiration blog Simply Sassy.
My team can be so demanding I tell ya! But I would do most anything for my lovely bunch. They have me wrapped around their little fingers! heehee
Tracy asked if I would be able to do a tutorial of some kind to share with all the Simply Sassy lovers! My first thought was HAIR! These funky little characters have amazing hair! And for those of you who love to colour, their hair is FUN!
I managed to get hold of one of their new stamps ‘Windswept‘ and I of course chose her due to my fascination with hair and I thought she would be perfect for this video.
I must add that I was actually quite nervous! hahaa Usually when I am making you all a video it’s just because, but as soon as I was making one for a reason it all became frightening. heehee
Soooo… Let’s start with my card!
I kept the card really quite basic. I wanted to make Windswept the main focus.

I was playing around with the idea of making the ruffles on her skirt slightly see through but I haven’t quite got that down pat and it seems difficult when you have a grey skirt underneath. Something for me to practice!

I have been seeing these spiral circle flowers around everywhere and Karen made a fabulous tutorial on WOJ. However I had an idea to use the Nestabilities crown circles and rather than beginning to fold from the outside, I used a quilling tool and started from the centre and curled the paper around to leave the edging on the outside!. I will make a video. I think they look awesome! heehee
I also used some laser cut flourishes from my ‘Flower leaf Embellishments‘ set. I had originally stamped them similar to the Kraft piece behind them. But they didn’t stand out enough so I ended up colouring them with a brown marker.
And here’s what we will be colouring!
It was a little difficult but a great challenge! You’ll see my plan for colouring her hair, my practice prior to the video and then can watch as I colour the hair above.
I hope you enjoy!
Tracy and the Simply Sassy Girls… Thanks so much for having me. I am honoured to be your very first Spotlight! All the best with these funky characters!.
Thanks for popping by today.
Big Squeezes out to all of you and sending some special warm hugs to my friends in North America – I hope the snow storms don’t cause you harm.
