Whimsy Stamps Digi Stamp Release

Hi Everyone,

I am excited to be sharing the fabulous news that Whimsy Stamps is releasing a new range of digi stamps, digi sentiments AND digi papers, just in time for the festive season. Plus the great news is, they will continue to have a new release on the 1st of every month!

How adorable are these images, illustrated by the beautiful and talented Crissy Armstrong?

I thought it would be fun to create a scene featuring the snowman – N’ice Friends 2 – and I added the fence and pine trees in the background.

One of the best things about digital stamps is the ability to be able to flip, rotate and resize them to your hearts content but my favourite thing is merging them with other images to build a special scene. It is so much easier to build a scene on the computer than to mask traditional rubber stamps.

And if you need a card for a birthday tomorrow…
well you can buy and print the perfect digital stamp in minutes!

I of course coloured my scene using Copic markers.

I coloured the snowman with

Body: 0, BG10, BG11, BV02, BV31, C3, YR07

I thought it would be fun to add a pattern to his scarf so I started by drawing the lines with
G94, YG97 & R05 and then I added the shading over the top using W3, W5 & W7

His hat was coloured with the same greens and I added some stickles at the end for the sparkle.

Birds: R05, R27, R29 / C3

The rest of the background colours are as follows:

Fence: E31, E35, E15, E29 / W3, W5
Snow: 0, BG10, B21, BV31, BV02, YR21, C5
Trees: YG41, YG45 / wash of C2, C3, C5

Once I had finished colouring the image I cut it to size using the
Small Rectangle stitched frame from Lawn Fawn.

Then using VersaMark ink, I stamped the ‘Falling Snow’ background stamp right over the image twice, and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. If there were any dots in a place I didn’t like, I simply brushed the dry powder off with a brush before melting it.

I thought it would be fun to match the word ‘happy’ with the pattern on the scarf, so using the same colours I added the lines across the main word.
To help it stand out, I coloured the bottom layer with black and when it was all glued into position I added glossy accents over the top.

I mounted everything to a standard size card using ‘fun foam’ to support the scene
and make sure it was stable through the post.

As always, my jaw hits the floor when I see your work. You just inspire and amaze, every time. I love the whole scene, it’s just as if it is out of a storybook. I find it so rewarding to see what you do with my images. It is a gift for me to just look at it. xx

Zoe, this is fabulous! I love the way you’ve done the scarf and sentiment to match! So clever and looks utterly fab. The scene you created for that sweet snowman is brilliant. Love, love, LOVE it! Hugs, Wends xoxo
