Tiddly Inks Challenge – Summer Sun

Hi Everyone,

I’m back with more Tiddly Inks inspiration for the new challenge – Summer Sun!

As I was looking through the Tiddly Inks store, trying to decide on an image to use for this challenge I thought rather than go for the obvious ‘beach scene’, I’d have some fun with¬†Hopping By – Wryn because of course this is a FUN summer vacation (we call it ‘holiday’ by the way) activity!

Copic Colours:

Skin: E000, E01, E04, E11
Hair: Y15, Y17, YR24, YR27
Greens: YG21, YG03, YG67
Purples: BV04, BV17, B39
Other: 0, C3, C7

After colouring the image I fussy cut around the edge leaving the white border so that it would stand out when I popped it up on the background.

The background was created using some watercolor paper which I spritzed with water and then added some drops of ‘Pigment Izink’ – mimosa, cactus & volublis. The blue and green have shiny particles in them so it shimmers! The ink is reactive to water but once it is dry it is no longer reactive which is great if you want to build up layers to get some different texture without disturbing the layers you have already dried.

I inked the ‘happy’ word chipboard with VersaColor Boysenberry pigment ink as it was the only purple I had but it is close enough.
And then I coated the bottom layer in white embossing powder to help it stand out from the background.

I finished the sentiment by writing ‘Sunshiny Days’ with a Copic Multiliner on the matching green card base.

Everything got layered to add some dimension and bring it all together.

Thanks so much for popping over to my blog and I do hope you will join the ‘Summer Fun’ challenge this week.

Big Squeezes

Zoe xoxo
