Well tomorrow is the big day! I am so excited and I am sure I will have trouble sleeping tonight. Well so far I am having trouble actually getting there!!

Yo, my FIRST Kenny K stamp!!!
Now I am excited to share my card with you today because of two reasons! Well three – First – I adore Denise! hahaa Second I have never coloured a Kenny K image before!! Third – I got to play first with a new release of RUBBAH!! hahaha How’s that for being a big fat meanie… I know I know but it is 1:30am and I am feeling quite delirious and certainly am unable to spell tonight. Where is that spell checker??… and I always seem to write whacky posts after midnight…. I should probably pre-plan a little more but then that wouldn’t be all that exciting would it??
Ok the card!!!!
Now I am warning you (I always seem to have some sort of warning these days.. but it is required!!)
I was pretending that I could be Annika. Annika just seems to magically have this ability to put all these ‘bits & bobs’ onto a card and make it look fabulous. I on the other hand attempted the what appeared to be similar approach and turned up with a hodge podge. Fortunately I am VERY happy with my colouring and I will explain that below – EXCITING NEW COLOURING TECHNIQUE!!
I was hoping the camera would take some sort of ‘magic’ photo and my card would appear to look like a different one. Unfortuantley I could only play with lighting – the camera see’s what it sees (hence why I am always behind it!!).
OK so who are we looking at here?? BOOGIE DOWN!! She is soooo funky that she has GREEN hair. (I had an urge and it was the last thing I coloured! haha)
Ok so what is soooo special about my colouring?? What is this new technique??
Well actually it is part of an IN-HOUSE challenge… As many of you know I have the Make it Colourful challenge blog but we are so crazy about colouring that we even find ourselves challenging each other ‘behind’ the scenes with super hard challenges…
The super hard challenge was to colour skin like THIS GUY!!! So I began trying to use as close to colours as he uses as I could however the dark colours he uses were just WAY TOO dark when you are working on such a small image. I can see how they would work on a large portrait image but they just really overpowered this image.
So I had a play around and this one is my fourth attempt. I am SOOO happy with the result. I think the tone of her skin looks much more natural with the green and yellow undertones.
OK so here is the list of colours I used on her skin in approx this order: YG0000, E000, E01, G20, YR21, G20, E13, Y11, E01
I still have more experimenting to do but I am excited about finally coming up with some colours that work and playing around with new ideas. It brings back the buzz and joy of colouring for me. 
Sooooo, you know you want to try it right?? Well you better run on over and grab yourself Boogie Down, then grab some colours as close to the ones listed above and then click on the image to enlarge and study it!! THEN PLAY!!!
oooo – Did you see I also got myself some ticket sentiments as well!! OOOO – you should see the NEW sentiments Ann created. I am going to have to add a few more things to my shopping list!! hahaha – I just read back over this sentence and I have totally written it as I was thinking it.
Ok I best skidaddle along and attempt some sleep.

Totally amazing! I’ve even already looked at the video! I’ve never tried anything that didn’t look like a skin colour on flesh. Hmmm…I think I’ll go see what prismas will do. Thanks for sharing.

I know what you mean about cards with loads of bits on I try but dont always succeed! You’ve done a great job, personally I think I would like it more with out the greem gingham layer over the spots??? Just a thought!!

I’ve watched that video but never really considered trying to color like him… You dis a great job though; her skin has a lot of depth! And I think your Annika trial came out good. I don’t know how you all manage to make so many things look good together…

If you hadn’t told us that there was yellow and green in her skin tone I would have never known. It sure looks great. I assume there’a a tute forthcoming. LOL Glad you had some fun creating this card. When you figure out how to channel Annika’s style let the rest of us in on it too.
