This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges the challenge is to base your project on a Song! I originally started a project basing it on a Christmas Song but at the last minute I went completely off that idea and decided to colour up Tilda with her Kookaburra and the perfect song of course is “The Kookaburra Song”!! hehehe
If you would like to find out more about the song you can view it here – You can also listen to the tune there too but be warned it will be stuck in your head for hours!! hehe
I thought I would make a tag this time rather than decorating a whole card. I grabbed the head torch and went scavenging down the back of the property looking for some gum leaves to add to my project. I collected the gum nuts some years back and have kept them in a dry place ready for a future project.
Tilda was coloured with copic markers and then I coloured the whole background with yellow, cut the oval out and sponged the edge with DI crushed olive and frayed burlap. I inked the back DP with the same colours to tie it together and to help separate the image from the DP I cut out another oval from white and lightly sponged the edge with frayed burlap.
I added some corrugated cardboard for some added interested imagining it sort of represented the iron roof’s in Outback Australia. Then to add a sentiment I used a Tim Holtz pin and made up a little tag from a sticker ‘Laughter’ (as that is what our Kookaburra’s are known for) and is part of the lyrics in the song…
Here’s a close up of Tilda and her Kookaburra
