This week it’s sketch time over at the MDUC blog. Perfect if you’re still working on your Christmas cards and need some inspiration to crank out those cards!
I am TERRIBLE at following sketches BUT I thought I would see how SIMPLE (with my new CAS style… haha) I could make my card following the Sketch!
Here’s a pic of the sketch – what do you think?? Did I do OK??
I must add that although not mentioned on the MDUC blog post, there was an additional challenge on top of following the sketch to ‘include WINGS’ and thus I decided to cut out Tilda with Balloon, give her some chipboard wings (wings of love) and also tuck the little XOXO into her hand. hehe I think she looks soooo cute!!
Although I didn’t take a photo, I was actually pretty clever with the tag!
I wanted to use a pre-made tag and decided I would use one of the small ones and cut the bottom using a magnolia heart tag die. I simply lined up the circle on the tag over the circle on the die and then it only cut the bottom part of the tag. Now I am kicking myself for not taking a photo!
Here’s a close up of Tilda and her chippie wings. hehe
I coloured the wings with yellow pencil. Then I used heat activate powder glue over the top so as not to get glue in all the fine areas and I coated them with clear sparkly glitter. They look gorgeous in real life. 🙂 Don’t you hate how photos rarely capture the glistening of glitter!!
Well that’s all from me today. I’ve seen a sneaky peek of what the other gorgeous girls have created and you defintiely don’t want to miss out!
Hope to see you play along with us this week!
