Layer it up with Crissy!

Zoe May 23, 2010 12

Woot, another Sunday’s with Crissy challenge is up and this time we’re playing with layers!!

I had one of my ‘light bulb’ moments when deciding which image I would use. I was looking at ‘Ansley’s Surprise’ from Wags ‘n Whiskers and thought, wouldn’t it be cool if you pulled on a tab and the dog popped out of the gift box?

But it did mean that I would have to make some changes to the image. Fortunately with digital images you have a bit more flexibility if you have knowledge using graphics programs.

First and foremost, I contacted Crissy with my idea and explained I needed to make some changes and asked if it was OK. Because I wanted to have the dog separate to the little girl, once cutting him out she wouldn’t have had an arm! So I had to draw her left side back in that was behind the dog. Crissy gave me permission to do so and off I went to try and made my paper pull tab mechanical card!

And the result??

Then slide the tab down and ‘SURPRISE!!’

Here is a close up of ‘Ansley’s Surprise’ from Wags ‘n Whiskers.

I used copic markers to colour her and then used gold liquid pearls and gold stickles for her wings. In real life it looks fantastic with a nice texture.

I used basic grey papers and the Spellbinders fancy tags and Lattice dies.

This is the original image you will receive when you order.

Click on over to Sunday’s with Crissy, to see all the fabulous creations from the oh so talented ladies and then jump in and play with your layered creations! Remember you can use any image to play along but to be in the drawing you need to use one of the lovely images designed by Crissy.

Jump on over to  Whimsy Stamps, Squigglefly and Wags ‘n Whiskers to pick an image!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Hugs

This is a lovely card; very pretty papers. You have coloured the little girl’s hair perfectly but I love the added extra of the popped layers and the moving parts. Brilliant! And is that a little doctored nestie pointing to the tab! Very, very clever! Warmest wishes, Lesley
