It's Carnival Hop Time!!!

Zoe April 21, 2011 231

Whew… How is that incredible inspiration so far?

I am hoping you landed here from
Lydia’s Blog

and are hopping your way through the
Mo & Zo’s Carnival Hop!
Yup Zo is ME!!Β  hehee

How many times have you had to lift your jaw off the ground?
From what I have sneaked a peek at, there is more of that to come!

You have reached the halfway point but I promise it’s going to continue to be awesome!

There are just so many ways to have fun with these images right?

We have been using ‘The Carnival Collection‘ from Make it Crafty
and ‘The Carnival Collection‘ from Mo’s Digital Pencil

If you have just landed here having no idea what is going on then
you’ll definitely want to HOP right on over to see
JAK where this incredible Carnival hop begins!

Along the way we have been asking everyone to collect letters on balloons
which when written in order will spell out a well known saying!

I don’t have a letter!!

BUT I can share with you what fabulous prizes we have up for grabs!!

Digital Stamp package from
Mo’s Digital Pencil & Make it Crafty

Rubber Stamp package from
Stamping Bella & Make it Crafty

Stampavie Polymer Stamps and Make it Crafty Kissing Booth
from Quixotic Paperie!

So that’s THREE chances of winning one of these fabulous prizes!!

So what have I created to inspire you today?

Well…. I have been wanting to make at Ferris Wheel that works for AGES!! But it was one of those things that gets put off all the time.

And I thought to myself… Well isn’t this the perfect opportunity?

If I don’t make it now, then it will never happen.

So I decided to create a whole Carnival Scene and propped up all the little characters on acetate so they could stand up and be moved around to create the scene!

Can’t you just imagine how much fun children would have playing with something like this?

Wait, forget the children – I HAD FUN PLAYING WITH IT!!!

So there’s a HEAP of photos!

Some photo’s can be enlarged when clicked.

This is my whole scene.

I have used a number of my Carnival Scene images and a number of the characters from Mo’s Digital Pencil.

This is the MiC “Candy Cart” and Mo’s “Jojo

This is Mo’s “ James at the Carnival” & “Kat at the Carnival

I merged these two images together before printing.

The Kissing booth from MiC is designed to be easily placed over a character and they will show right through the ‘window’ area.

And as you can see ‘Little Smooch‘ is all puckered up ready for a big sloppy KISS! heeehe

Next up we have ‘Angelina’ and ‘The Fat Lady

hmmm… I wonder if the fat lady has anything to do with today??

In the distance there you can see a bit of the MiC ‘Circus Tent‘.

Now some shots of the ferris wheel.

UPDATE: For details on how I made the Ferris Wheel
I now have another post outlining it here.

Fortunately it looks a little better with all the characters around it. I had so many problems with this one.

The weather has been terrible and the paint took forever to dry AND I should have bought matt paint NOT gloss as I got finger prints all over it trying to put it all together.

BUT, it was so much fun to design it all up and make it
and then the satisfaction of turning the little handle and it WORKS!!

Before I send you on to your next stop,

Mo has illustrated the most ADORABLE little girl ‘Cotton Candy

All proceeds from sales throughout the hop will go to the UK & US ‘Make a Wish’ Foundations.

So your next fabulous blog to hop to is

But… before you go… you know how hops work right?
Leave me a little LURVE and it’s possible that I might have another hidden prize to give away!

Thank you SOOOOO much for joining us and I hope for those of you who celebrate Easter have a wonderful day
and to everyone, may you have a wonderful weekend with family and loved ones.

Big Squeezes!

  180. Carole of Brum April 24, 2011 at 5:49 am - Reply

Hi again Zoe, I just couldnt comment properly yesterday due to being rendered speechless. I’ve even been raving to non-crafters about the sights I saw yesterday, my amazement was simply too big to be contained, he he.

I cant help wondering what it must be like for people who are new to MiC to be looking at all this stuff. I’ve been around Make It colourful for a couple of months now and am used to my mouth dropping open and drooling, it must be something else for newbies, lol.

Anyway, the ferris wheel almost overshadows the fab characters and scene you made, just wanted to say that the colouring is gorgeous, love all the golden yellows, really captures the bright wonderful feel of a carnival.
