Have you tried blending different families?

Zoe February 5, 2011 11

Hi Everyone,

This week at Make it Colourful we are challenging you (well I put on the challenge!) to grab your colouring mediums and mix families!

The challenge is to ease you in to begining to experiment blending colours from different families and this week it is BLUE and PURPLE!

We are really happy to have Karen’s Doodles as our sponsor this week too! Karen has some of the most adorable little characters and I love that they are funny but also lifelike so you can really practice your colouring!

I decided to combine a couple of images. I used Butterfly Baby Girl and Butterfly Baby Boy from Karen’s Doodles and placed them on the Rainbow Dandelion Landscape.

I have been falling behind so I will admit this was a little bit of a rush at the last minute today…. I think it still came out OK. 🙂 Nice and bright and cheery.

And here is a close up of the image…

There are tooo many colours to list all of them so I will list the blue/purple combo

The overalls were coloured with: B93, B95, B97, BV13, V17

The dress was coloured with: B000, B00, B02, B60, BV00, BV13, V17

I do hope you will take the plunge and experiment trying to blend blue and purple together this week! Jump on over to Make it Colourful to check out my fabulous team! You are sure to be inspired!!

I am really keeping this post short today as I must go and make some dinner. I am starving!! heehee

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend. Take care and I will try really really hard to not be so long before I pop back!!

Sending you BIG squeezes!

This is absolutely adorable! I love how the card is more pinkish and the center turns more blueish – a great effect. And the white paper looks like a quilt which is great texture and suitable for this image. Where did you get those flowers? I’m getting so tired of my stash. I love it – even with the simple coloring and I love the colors! *Hugs
