PRIZES!!
Oh Oh oh… and of course there are prizes to be won too.
Leave comments along the way for a chance to win hidden prizes BUT there are also some FABULOUS prizes at the end. You’re nearly there!!
On with my projects!!!
Oh my golly! I have been so excited about offering these stamps in rubber as they are the PERFECT stamps to watercolour!! YUP! Shove those markers to the side and grab your Distress Inks or even the kiddies paint box and have some fun getting all inky with brushes, water and paint!
DH was ordering a few things from the USA for Christmas and I just had to sneak in one of those Koi watercolor sets. It’s just 24 colours but boy I have been having so much fun it should be illegal! LOLย But to be honest, I HATED it at first. Having to WAIT for the paint to dry before you can add more colours?!? Paint flowing everywhere out of control and water dripping all over the place! OH MY GOLLY – can you imagine what this does to a COPIC control freak?!?!
Well… you know me. I was DETERMINED to conquer this watercolouring medium! And hours of YouTube and learning to calm down, be patient and WALK AWAY… I began to slowly understand the joys of watercolouring. ๐
The excitement of those colours mixing and blending together. The excitement of not knowing how it will look once it is totally dry. Yup. I have fallen in love with watercolouring. I am even starting to imagine creating pieces I can hang on my wall. ๐
So finally…ย after all that blabbering… let me show you what I have done. ๐
The gorgeous Birthday Daisies Rubber Stamp (Digital Stamp) were the first flowers I painted with my new paints.
I really enjoyed making the background and quite liked it at ‘arms length’ but I felt frustrated with it. I was a little impatient working on this one.
After a few more videos and learning I need to be more patient, I painted the Roses of Love rubber stamp (Digital Stamp)
I have to admit I was quite proud how this turned out. I learned to walk away and allow it to dry each time returning to add more depth and more details.
The biggest problem I had with this was keeping the colour mix the same. In the end I had to keep coming back over the top of the roses with different tones to try and get them all similar.
ย And before I went on my watercolouring craze I coloured the Roses with COPIC too.
Finally my last fun with watercolours I went all out just having fun mixing the colours and seeing how they react to the water.
This one really liberated me and helped break me free from being so controlling.
And I LOVE the result. ๐
Sympathy Lilies Rubber Stamp / Peace Lily Digi Stamp
I HIGHLY recommend having some fun with a different medium and stretching your comfort zone. You just never know how much fun it will be.
But just like I experienced, there will be pain during the transition and you’ll want to trow everything you try away. But with a bit of determination and some patience I know you can do it too.
Oh OH and guess what I have as an incentive to get you started?
Yup. This months’ colouring challenge is ‘Watercolouring’. ๐
Oh and aren’t the new flower stamps the perfect stamps to try it out on?? *giggle*
