Hi Everyone,
This is a really cute quick card featuring a gorgeous TiddlyInks cutie called ‘Whatever Floats By’ and some of the cute chipboard from Make it Crafty.
I really wanted to make a quick and simple card that didn’t take forever so I used very basic colours and not too many shades. The hair for example was coloured with C7 and C9 leaving the white for the highlights and then I added a little pink on the fringe to make it pop. I used the same pinks on her skirt and shoes and even kept her top black as well so as to really simplify the design.
The circle was cut using Lawn Fawn stitched circle die and I began building my little floating scene. I left the chipboard clouds natural and quickly cut around the image leaving a white border.
Sometimes it’s the little extra details that can help take your simple card to the next level. Just like those little sparkly dots on the green background. I just quickly dabbed on a few dots using some Star Dust Stickles. I think it’s the perfect touch!
Tip: when fussy cutting to leave a white border you don’t have to be perfect. Once your card is made, no one notices those little details.
To tie the whole design together I coloured the ‘hello’ chipboard using the same pinks from the image, coated it with Angel Dust Art Glitter and glued it to the bottom layer which I left natural to match the clouds.
Then I built all the little layers using dimensional tape. And finished the card by adding some glossy accents to the hello word at the very end.
I hope you enjoyed this quick and simple card.
