I have sent you an email sweetie.

Hello Everyone,

Today I thought I would have a bash at some watercoloring. I am trying to mix it up a little and become a little more comfortable with ‘painting’.

I had an old stamp set from Tiddly Inks which I used for this card, but the gorgeous little fairy ‘Fairy Heartfelt‘ is available as a digital stamp still.

I used DI tattered rose for her face and a little shading with DI tea dye. And then I painted the rest of the image using a little set of Derwent Inktense pencils by wetting the area with a brush and then picking up a little of the pigment from the pencil and painting the image.

I used a quality watercolor paper, Arches Hot Press 300gsm card so that I could be confident when applying water.

I tried REALLY hard to leave it looking ‘watercolor-y’ but couldn’t help myself and did just some little touch ups with pencil at the end.

I love how the transparent wings turned out though!

I used one of the little sentiments and hearts from the stamp set to stamp a pattern on the card base, then I inked up the chipboard frame with some grey ink and popped it all onto a card.

I think it’s a great way to use those little ‘extras’ in a stamp set!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
