I woke up this morning to a package at my desk, yay! My new goodies I ordered last week had arrived! I was a very lucky girl this Christmas and to my surprise Jase had bought me a Cuttlebug! Of course I couldn’t wait to use the Cuttlebug but all the craft stores were closed for THREE whole days! You can imagine my anticipation for Monday to come around. lol
However, this did give me time to research online and find out all the things I wanted to purchase first up. I found this great site ScrapbookBoutique that has a huge range of dies and embossing folders for a range of machines on the market. So I placed an order for some Cuttlebug items plus some gorgeous Magnolia and Mo Manning stamps which I will experiment with later.
Stamp Something has a new challenge on called “New Somethings” where the challenge is to create something with something you haven’t used before, so I thought I would play around with the new “Funky Circle Frames” Cuttlebug die.
For some reason I had pictured the circles as being whole and I was going to make layered flowers from them and to my brief disappointment I realised they were cut out circle frames. However I wasn’t going to let this beat me! I was making flowers!!!
So I had an idea to cut up some small pieces of tape and when the die came out I stuck the circles together in different places on the back so that I could use a toothpick to curl up edges that hadn’t been stuck together.
I finished off with some buttons on top and then created the rest of my card around it.
And here is a close up of the flower from the side.
So I may have been disappointed at first but it made me think outside the square and I think in the end it didn’t turn out too bad.
Some food for thought: Can you think of something you can do different with something you always use the same way? Please send me a link or add a comment with your examples! Looking forward to being inspired by your creativity…
