Clean and Simple afternoon

Zoe March 6, 2010 18

After a very hectic week I really needed some time to myself today and what better way to spend that time than crafting!! I decided it was about time I started turning my coloured images into cards and so I bring TWO cards to you today.

Surprise 4 Mum

The first is this gorgeous digital bunny image “A Present for Mum” by Karens Doodles. I coloured it in earlier in the week and had been hanging out to share it with you so thought I better make something out of it.

And here is a close up of the cutie. I wanted to test my skills to see if I could keep the bunnies looking white with some shading to add the dimension. I am reasonably happy with the outcome but of course ‘I’ see all the errors. hehehe  Sorry I was naughty and didn’t keep a list of copics used for this one. I started sharing so I am sorry I haven’t continued. My bad!

Updated: Just wanted to update my post after Lori asked the question about the clouds. I resized my template used in other posts to three different sized clouds and I used the Inkssentials™ blending tool with a light blue pigment ink. I wiped most of the ink off the pad onto some scrap paper before applying short strokes over the top section of the cloud template. Then I would switch to another template and repeate, finally going all the way around the bottom template to show the full cloud.

cloud template I used for this card.

A Simple Thank you

In this next one I have used “Sophie and Teddy” from the new JUST RELEASED Victoria Case stamps exclusively available from The Townscrapper.

Doesn’t she look so innocent. I think she is gorgeous. Here is a close up of Sophie. Of course my brown copics hate me at the moment and I just can’t get my hair right. 🙁

And finally, you might have noticed my corners are all curved! Well I did a little shopping today. I went and bought a corner punch, and some material so I could start making some cute flowers. I even stamped the sentiment onto a strip of material and frayed the edge.

I followed a few challenges for these cards:

  1. Embellish magazine – (Surprise 4 Mum) Use borders and be inspired by Green, yellow, pink and peach
  2. Flourishes Timeless Tuesday – (Surprise 4 Mum) Scallops
  3. The Pink Elephant – Add Green to your colour combo
  4. Stamp Something – Something Girly
  5. Lexi’s Creations – Anything Goes
  6. Simon Says Stamp – Mother’s Day / Girly
  7. My Time to Craft – Just for mum
  8. C.R.A.F.T. – Mothers Day / Flowers

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Hugs

    Hi Zoe,

Beautiful card! You did a fab job on the colouring especially keeping the bunnies white. Did you use a stencil for the clouds and what did you shade them with? They look so fluffy.

    xoxo,
    Lori
