I’ve been busy catching up, making some last minute Christmas cards to send to our yearly family & friends Christmas list. Luckily I did have a few images already coloured from past releases that I could use to make a few cards but I did find that I needed more cards and so I had to begin some ‘production runs’ which you can find in some of my other blog posts.
I jumped on Periscope the other day whilst I made a couple of cards and this was the ‘Shaker Card’ I made during the long session. lol It took forever!
Unfortunately it seems Katch.me doesn’t flip the screen when recorded in landscape. 🙁
I created the sky background using Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass, Broken China & Stormy Sky – heated and heated it until it finally dried and then I stamped the snow using the ‘Falling Snow‘ stamp from Make it Crafty. Which I then heat embossed with WOW! Diamond White Embossing Glitter.
I then built a ‘DAM WALL’ for the shaker element using three layers of ‘fun foam’. It ended up being quite thick so I think I will stick with two layers next time.
The front of the card scene was made using Lawn Fawn Stitched rectangles and stitched hillside dies, the snowman was made from some spellbinder circle dies and the cute little girl is a digi stamp that I coloured long ago Donna Snowball. She is also available as part of an image with a snowman Donna Building Snowman Then to finish, I added some puff paint for snow.
I added some glitter, mini balls and sequins to the ‘DAM’ and then carefully placed the scene on top to build the shaker card.
It all worked pretty and will be the perfect card for friends of ours who have two little girls.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
