Christmas in the stores already…

Zoe October 30, 2011 31

Hi Everyone,

I knew it was coming, and I knew it wasn’t far away but I have had my blinkers on I tell ya! Christmas is just around the corner and it hit me today when I opened my eyes for the first time when I was out shopping and saw mountains of decorations, advent calendars, christmas lights and more… It’s crazy times ahead! hmmm – how much of my shopping can I achieve online??

Now there’s a good question… Do you get all squished trying to find a bargain instore or do you stay rugged up in your PJ’s shopping online for Christmas?? hehe

Well I have at least made a start on some Christmas cards! I have played with the cute little christmas elves from Make it Crafty but I am yet to make a scene with the Winter Elements. I have the idea sitting there – I just need to action it! :)

However, today I thought I would share a card I made with one of the images I coloured up at the Craft Show in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago. I was very excited to get my hands on some of the new Christmas Magnolias.

You would have seen a preview of this card in my last post, however I thought I would write another post to share the details. :)
(Well those that I can remember… hehe)

Here is a close up of ‘Something for you Tilda

I really love the pose on this Tilda and the super cute Santa style dress!

I wanted to make something a little elegant and so I designed up the frame and lasered it and then coated it with gold embossing powder.
The papers are a mix of echo park and webster’s pages.
The gorgeous gems are from Kaisercraft.

Copics (from memory)

E000, E21, E13

R35, R37, RV29, R89, W5, W7

W1, W3, W5

E74, 77, 79

I can’t recall the colours for the gift box sorry.

I coloured this image on our girls night in over at Debbies house.

It was a fantastic night and we all had an absolute ball with lots of laughs!
Thanks for looking after us all Debs and (hubby) hehe

That’s all for today. I’ll have more to post throughout the week!

Big Aussie Squeezes!!

    She looks fab Zoe !

No squeeezy crowded stores or endless tasteless christmas music for us, I shop it all online, one of the few upsides to living on a rock 14hrs from any city.

I get in early …. I don’t really enjoy Christmas shopping .. but what I do enjoy is making Christmas cards! This will be my first year of home made cards and I’m really excited.

Your card looks sensational…. I see you are still using the ‘no lines’ effect …. awesome!

Sorry I haven’t been around much …. currently doing nightshifts and still trying to get some sleep in while looking after my gorgeous little toddler …. thank goodness I only do about 5 a month!

Looking forward to entering another comp soon :)

    Hugs

    Wow Zoe!
She’s gorgeous! Such wonderful coloring! Love her outfit, you brought it to life with all the yummy folds. Gorgeous frame, love the design. Fantastic card!
I can’t believe how fast the year is going! As for Christmas shopping, it depends. I haven’t started yet so I might be in and out of the stores, usually when they are closing is when I head out or first thing in the morning. However I find that gift cards really work and put a smile on someone’s face each and everytime. hahaha! have a wonderful day!
