Soooo, I am back in the swing of colouring AND colouring with ‘no lines’ all thanks to one little miss muffet Michelle.
I don’t know how she does it but she manages to get me cracking and playing with ideas. 🙂
I just LOVE this little guy Xmas Hamster.
I stamped him with Adirondack cloudy blue ink (you can use any light coloured ink for this) then began colouring the background.
Then I started colouring his little face when an idea popped into my mind about adding the ‘drops’ completely inspired by Elaine (Quixotic paperie) from some months ago.
So I stopped colouring the face and got my blender reinker and started ‘dripping’ onto the surface. The drops were too big and so lazy me just started dribbling the alcohol onto my fingers and ‘flicking’ the paper. That worked much better. I love how it turned out as it looks like those ‘glares’ you get from the sun sparkling etc… you know what I mean… lol
Then of course I coloured him in and I used prisma pencils to help get the fine details of his fur.
I think he looks ADORABLE and I just love how he came out.
I kept the card super simple, again inspired by the lovely MaryJ.
CAS is really working for me at the moment. 🙂 hehe
The little sentiment ’tis the season to be jolly’ is from the ‘Angel Singing Carols‘ stamp at MiC.
Here’s the all important pics!
The thing I like most about having no stark lines is that the fur looks more natural.
Unfortunately I got his whiskers wrong (compared to the original image) as I couldn’t see them anymore! Ooops!
I hope you like it!! lil Xmas Hamster is a definite must for your Christmas cards this year!
