I really need to buckle down and write a few blog posts. I have been very good in writing up little sheets with the colours I have used and currently have the cards laying out on my desk just waiting for me to find a chance to write up some posts.
OF course… that organisation came AFTER I made this card and sadly I didn’t write down my colours for this one. *Face Palm*
I thought it would be fun to create a shaker card featuring Wryn’s Leaves and incorporate the Leaves chippies from Make it Crafter as a shaker element. I wanted to create a circle shape so I measured my Spellbinders circle die and then created a ‘circle’ shape in my computer software just a little bigger so that I would know what size I needed my image to be in order to position it nicely in the shaker frame.
Once I printed it out. I coloured the background first, creating a sweet little woodland scene behind Wryn and then finished by colouring the leaves and Wryn. I wish I had have taken a few photos of the colouring before putting the whole card together.
I really wanted to keep the card nice and clean so I opted for white on white and then to make the sentiment pop, I coloured the bottom layer of the ‘hello’ with a burnt orange marker and left the word hello natural. Stamped the ‘sending you hugs’ and left it like that.
The shaker element was made easily by cutting out the main larger size circle from a piece of fun foam – twice – and then layered them on top of each other. This gave me the height I needed but also the stable support across the whole top piece of my shaker card. I glued the clear plastic in place before gluing the fun foam into position and it all held together perfectly.
I coloured some of the new leaves chippies (links below) with autumn colours and then added sequins and stars etc to match the colour scheme. I didn’t want to add too much stuff to cover the image so I went on the safer side of adding less in the hope it would be enough for some fun but wouldn’t take away from all the time spent colouring this adorable image!
Well that’s all from me. I hope I inspired you to make a fun little card to send to a friend and brighten their day!
