I wanted to create some inspiration with the current $1 digi at Make it Crafty – Geeky Rascal Box Sleigh. If you order him this month (October 2016) and make a card with him, post it to the Facebook Group or on Instagram (tag #makeitcrafty) for a chance to win a $15 gift voucher.
I created a live video in the MiC Facebook group whilst making this card which you are welcome to watch if you like.
I began by colouring Geeky Rascal with copic markers and I was aiming for a quick colouring session so I kept everything simple. Then I fussy cut him out so he would be ready to position on the background later.
I created the background using distress inks and a circular sponge and then using some masking paper I cut out some house shapes and stuck the negative down to protect the sky whilst I painted the black silhouette houses.
I cut the piece down to size using a rectangle stitched die and then popped it on the base using fun foam for some dimension. Then popped up Geeky Rascal using left over fun foam too!
I coloured the ‘Merry’ chipboard word using copic markers that matched the purple in the sky and stuck it to the outlined base layer that I left plain. Is stamped the ‘Christmas’ word from the Fairy Tag Tops Rubber Stamp set and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Then stuck them in position onto the card with some glue.
Finally I added a bunch of little stars, sequins and rhinestones as Geeky Rascal left a trail of magic dust.
To add some extra bling, I added Glossy Accents to the word ‘Merry’ and some stardust stickles to the stars and hat.
I hope I’ve inspired you to create a cute Christmas card with Geeky Rascal!
