This week at Make it Colourful we are being sponsored by the adorable Crissy Armstrong. Crissy and I have been friends since early last year and I have been so grateful and feel so lucky to have been a part of her very first team Sundays With Crissy. Regretfully I have had to recently step down from the team. My life has become so hectic that I am in the process of making some changes and as hard as it was to leave the gorgeous girls and especially Crissy it was a decision I had to make.

Crissy, thank you soooo much for having me and giving me the opportunity to grow with you and for all your loving words and encouragement. You are one of the most beautiful people I know. Hugs xxoo

To say good-bye, I decided to revisit the very first card I made when I joined Crissy’s team over a year ago and so I have coloured Maya Blowing Bubbles today.

As per usual I am not entirely happy with it. I completely ruined her leg on the left!!! HOWEVER, when comparing to my skills over a year ago, well you can see those hours of practice have certainly made some difference. 🙂 hehee

I found this REALLY challenging and I am really happy I managed to talk the girls into switching the challenge up this week to try colouring ‘Dark Skin’.

I wasn’t entirely happy witht he copic colouring and started going over some areas with prisma pencils – in the end the whole imge got coloured with copics and then prismas on top! LOL

Here are the skin colours

Copics – G20, E51, E13, E35, E21, E27
Prismas – 947, 944, 997, 1033. 1034

The G20, helps to lay down a nice base under the ligh areas that I then lightly skimmed over with E21 and E51

So I am challenging YOU to try colouring Dark Skin with us this week at Make it Colourful!!

I’ll be announcing all the winners of everything in a couple of days but before then I have a couple more random winners!!

Breath-taking Zoe. I love it. The highlights are miraculous. So much depth and detail created.

Wonderful challenge idea. I have seen this technique before, but haven’t been brave enough to try it myself. I think next time I would choose an image that had more drawn features to create the depth you did.
