I was so excited to see the participation in our very first technique challenge ‘Create a Scene’. I could see early on that I would have a difficult task ahead of me to choose the winners.
The winner of the ‘Create a Scene’ technique challenge is:
I love that Tracy tried a new technique when creating her scene and stamped the image of the fairy and masked before printing the digi fairy house. With a few hiccups along the way she persevered and created this gorgeous scene. What I also thought really added to the scene was the positioning of her flowers. They look like they are part of the garden and their depth helps to pull you further into the scene.

Next up we have the TOP TWO!!
This is a fantastic example of layering and sizing digital images to illustrate the perception of depth. By adding the tree behind and lifting it higher than the boot, it appears that the scene is on a small hill. I really admire Sheila’s eye for creating depth in her scenes.
I really like the creative mind of Nancy and how she was able to see ways to create a scene out of images I would never have even thought to pull together! This is a prime example of the amazing things you can do with some imagination and digital stamps! Nancy has incorporates the slimy house with a beach scene and she simply layered the slimy house over the palm tree so it didn’t look so tropical. I love how she created a path to the house and the bold colours are striking.

And my special Encouragement Award goes to
Sandi joined the Learning Centre and received feedback on her first entry. What I loved was that Sandi took that advice and worked with the ideas to create this fantastic scene. Sandi’s scene is all created digitally and coloured using a graphics program. With a few more tips up her sleeve she added shadows and shading to her scene. I am very impressed Sandi. Thanks so much for joining us and making me happy to see that this idea can help others and make a difference.
