Create a Scene Winners!

Zoe September 22, 2010 14

Hi everyone,

I was so excited to see the participation in our very first technique challenge ‘Create a Scene’. I could see early on that I would have a difficult task ahead of me to choose the winners.

The winner of the ‘Create a Scene’ technique challenge is:

I love that Tracy tried a new technique when creating her scene and stamped the image of the fairy and masked before printing the digi fairy house. With a few hiccups along the way she persevered and created this gorgeous scene. What I also thought really added to the scene was the positioning of her flowers. They look like they are part of the garden and their depth helps to pull you further into the scene.

Here is your winning badge Tracy! Feel free to add it to your site.

Tracy, please stop by the digital stamps section and select three digital stamps of your choice and email me with your picks via the contact area.

Next up we have the TOP TWO!!

This is a fantastic example of layering and sizing digital images to illustrate the perception of depth. By adding the tree behind and lifting it higher than the boot, it appears that the scene is on a small hill. I really admire Sheila’s eye for creating depth in her scenes.

I really like the creative mind of Nancy and how she was able to see ways to create a scene out of images I would never have even thought to pull together! This is a prime example of the amazing things you can do with some imagination and digital stamps! Nancy has incorporates the slimy house with a beach scene and she simply layered the slimy house over the palm tree so it didn’t look so tropical. I love how she created a path to the house and the bold colours are striking.

Here is your I Topped It! badge ladies! Feel free to add it to your site.

Sheila and Nancy, please stop by the digital stamps section and select one digital stamp of your choice and email me with your pick via the contact area.

And my special Encouragement Award goes to

Sandi joined the Learning Centre and received feedback on her first entry. What I loved was that Sandi took that advice and worked with the ideas to create this fantastic scene. Sandi’s scene is all created digitally and coloured using a graphics program. With a few more tips up her sleeve she added shadows and shading to her scene. I am very impressed Sandi. Thanks so much for joining us and making me happy to see that this idea can help others and make a difference.

Here is your I Learnt It! badge Sandi! Feel free to add it to your site.

Sandi, please stop by the digital stamps section and select three digital stamps of your choice and email me with your picks via the contact area.

A big thank you to everyone who participated in our very first technique challenge. You all wowed me with your creations and I am so happy that a number of you tried something new for the first time!

I’ll be back later today with our very first FUN CHALLENGE! I hope you’ll pop by to see all the FUN!

Hugs and take care

I am thrilled to receive ‘The Encouragement Award’. I’m putting the badge on my sidebar proudly, and will hop over to decide on my images, that might be a difficult pick with all of the super images to pick from!
Thank you Zoe, and your Team for picking me, and for giving me the opportunity to play. I can’t forget Sandy, I followed her tutorial on converting jpg’s to png files, and it’s made working with images so much easier. And Zoe’s advice on shadowing and layering has opened up a new way for finishing my digital colorings!

Wooooooooo Hoooooooo, thank you for choosing me as the Winner. I am really chuffed and I guess it was worth persevering with. I got there in the end and learn’t a few lessons on the way. I loved creating the scene and hope to do more. I have also become a member of the learning centre and was impressed with a quick response and all the help I received, but looks like I need to invest in photoshop elements to learn how to flood fill, so guess I’ll be needing more help, lol. Thank you.

Congrats to Sheila, Nancy and also Sandi. Fab cards.
